Slab Number

Auto-pads to 5 digits. Type 1 → encodes CS00001.

Barcode format

Code 128 — encodes letters + digits, scans with any barcode app or laser scanner. Industry standard. No licensing.

QR code data

Encodes the full URL https://crestslabs.co.uk/pages/slab-XXXXX so phone cameras open the registry page directly.

Encoding convention

Barcodes use CS prefix + 5-digit number = CS00001. Self-identifying, no collisions with other items.

Scanning compatibility

Tested with iPhone Camera, Google Lens, dedicated barcode scanners, and Shopify POS.
